Z.O.M.B. LABORATORIES — Decorative Object Analysis 054-R
Related record: 053-L, Lilac Bloody Christmas Ornament
Primary question: Is the red staining ordinary blood, and can 054 serve as a control against the chemically unusual lilac material?
Records puts 054-R beside the lilac ornament.
Records: Same ornament. Red blood.
Z. Omb: Possibly an excellent comparison specimen.
Records: That was almost enthusiastic.
Z. Omb: Controls are useful.
The ornament itself is again structurally ordinary.
The skulls are decorative.
The shell is rigid.
The metal hanging cap behaves normally.
The interesting difference is the fluid.
A naturally flaked residue is collected.
Hemoglobin is present.
Red blood-cell remnants are detectable.
No additional lilac pigment component appears.
Records: So this one is just blood.
Z. Omb: Ordinary blood is currently sufficient to explain the staining.
That makes 054-R valuable because 053-L can now be compared against a closely related object with ordinary red biological staining.
The deposition pattern is similar:
- fluid pooled in recesses,
- ran downward under gravity,
- collected around skull edges,
- and dried unevenly across the ornament surface.
So the strange thing about 053-L is less likely to be the ornament itself.
The stronger hypothesis becomes:
same type of object + similar deposition behavior + different fluid chemistry.
Records: Red one normal. Purple one weird.
Z. Omb: Concise and currently supported.
Current record
Object: Hanging Christmas ornament
Skull elements: Decorative, non-biological
Red staining: Present
Blood: Confirmed
Additional anomalous pigment: Not detected
Fluid flow before drying: Supported
Similarity to 053-L deposition pattern: High
Chemical similarity to 053-L: Partial only
Usefulness as comparison control: High
Anomaly: None required for the red material
Research priority: Moderate, primarily comparative
Records adds:
NORMAL BLOOD CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT
Omb:
An unsettling phrase, but accurate enough.
