Z.O.M.B. LABORATORIES — MYCOLOGY NOTE 46
Beautiful.
Finally.
09:12 — Initial morphology suggests a basidiomycete. No useful identification beyond this point. Cap pigmentation violet. Exudate cyan.
09:31 — The droplets are not dew.
09:47 — They are also not guttation fluid.
10:03 — They fluoresce.
10:04 — Excellent.
10:26 — Several fungi are genuinely bioluminescent through luciferin/luciferase chemistry, but this specimen appears to have misunderstood both the mechanism and the assignment.
11:08 — Compared exudate against descriptions of foxfire, historical alchemical ignis fatuus, and three accounts of fairy rings.
The fairy-ring literature is scientifically useless.
I have nevertheless circled several passages.
12:41 — Droplet 7 has moved uphill.
12:43 — Repeated observation.
12:45 — Droplet 7 has been promoted to Specimen 46-B.
13:17 — 46-B is missing.
13:19 — Found it.
13:20 — It was on me.
13:26 — I have decided against tasting the exudate.
This decision demonstrates considerable professional growth.

CEREBROSCOPE STUDIO INCIDENT ADDENDUM
At 14:02, Dr. Omb requested:
1. six additional specimen jars,
2. ultraviolet lighting,
3. “one of those medieval plague masks,” and
4. permission to establish a fairy ring in Laboratory 3.
Items 3 and 4 were denied.
Item 2 had already been installed without authorization.
We have elected not to ask what happened to item 1.
